A Saint Exupéry weekend in Fribourg

The Association of Swiss Friends of Antoine de Saint Exupéry aims to bring together a community that shares the values expressed by the author in his work. These include friendship, responsibility, universality, spirituality, humanity, benevolence, generosity and self-confidence. His commitment is to inspire young people to become scientists in order to create solutions that respect nature and serve society.

With this in mind, the Association organised a ‘Saint Exupéry Weekend in Fribourg’ on 19 and 20 October 2024, featuring a major exhibition, six lectures, two guided tours of Fribourg in the footsteps of St-Ex and three film screenings based on The Little Prince. More than 500 people took part in one or other part of this event.

The writing competition organised at the Collège Sainte-Croix (which is located on the site of the Villa Saint-Jean where St-Exx studied between 1915 and 1917) enabled many talented writers to be discovered. Olivier d'Agay (Antoine de Saint Exupéry's grand-nephew) presented the prizes to the winners at the exhibition's opening aperitif, in the presence of Simon Murith (President of the Fribourg City Council) and Pierre-Olivier Nobs (city councillor).
