German Appenzell-Innerrhoden dialect (2020)

Despite COVID-19 restrictions, the launch of the Appenzell Innerrhoden dialect edition was able to take place at the end of September 2020 in Appenzell (an area almost completely untouched by the epidemic).

The event took place in the Bücherladen bookstore in the presence of the translator Mr Joe Manser, Mrs Lucrezia Meier-Schatz (member of the Board of our Foundation) and Mr Roland Inauen, Landammann* of the Canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden. The latter spoke about the content of the book and the importance of having a translation into this vibrant and widely used dialect.

* The Landammann is the head of government of this Swiss half-canton. He is also the head of the annual citizens' meeting (Landsgemeinde) which always takes place in the central square in Appenzell on the last Sunday in April and where voting still takes place by show of hands.
