Rapanui  (2021)

It took three years for this edition to be published. This was only possible thanks to the great perseverance of Céline Ripoll, a Frenchwoman who has lived on Easter Island for many years. In 2016, she created the Moai Publishing House. The Moai are the monumental statues dating from the 13th and 15th centuries that made this island, located in Polynesia but belonging to Chile, famous. As the island has no infrastructure for printing books, the 1,500 copies of The Little Prince were printed in Santiago de Chile and flown to Easter Island.

The book launch organized by Céline was attended by more than 120 people, including, of course, the translator Maria Eugenia Tuki Pakarati (in a flowery dress), who received a big applause. Alfredo Tuki, (in blue shirt) founder of the language academy, warmly thanked Celine for her efforts to offer the community such a beautiful text in the Rapanui language.
