Jèrriais  (2023)

The official launch of the Jèrriais edition of The Little Prince took place on 8 December 2023 at the Société Jersiaise in the Members' Hall.

The Director of the Alliance Française de Jersey, Anna Peluso-Allen, said: "The Little Prince is a book that I read as a teenager and I was struck by its different levels of reading. Even then, it was a book that described the complexity of the world and of human beings. It's a great pleasure to be involved in this project, which links our two missions: promoting the island's linguistic and cultural diversity". She also thanked the Fondation Jean-Marc Probst pour le Petit Prince and P.I.A.F. Solutions for funding and coordinating the project, not forgetting of course Geraint Jennings for his excellent translation work and Blue Ormer, the publisher.

The event also highlighted "the unique publishing phenomenon that makes The Little Prince a defender and promoter of the world's cultural and linguistic diversity, and of books and reading".

To celebrate this event, themed workshops will be offered to the Jersey public by the Alliance Française and the Office du Jèrriais from January 2024.
